Eagles become a Community Amateur Sports Club

We’re delighted to announce the club has been granted CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club) status by HMRC. What’s a CASC we hear you ask?

Well, it’s a bit like gaining charity status. We will get tax and business rates relief which will become increasingly relevant as the club grows and widens its activities. And crucially, it gives us the ability to raise funds from individuals under Gift Aid. A registered CASC can reclaim 25p in tax for every £1 donated. This will represent a huge boost to our fundraising efforts as we ramp up our campaign to raise money for our new facility at Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School. More on that very soon!

Some of the key criteria to become a CASC include:

  • Having an open membership without discrimination

  • Promote and provide facilities for amateur football.

  • Being non-profit making – any profits are reinvested back into the club

It’s another big step forward for the club, and one that will greatly help us build a sustainable future.
