Another amazing awards night!
Last month saw the whole of Canterbury Eagles come together for our annual awards night. With another sold out event on our hands, we were delighted to be setting up in the sunshine and welcome everyone onto the Simon Langton Girls’ School field without fear of a washout on our hands!
More than 30 teams were celebrated for their performances and development over the 2024/25 season with special accolades handed out for individual achievements including manager’s player, supporters’ player and most improved player.
The club committee also took the opportunity to do a bit of much-needed fundraising with a very successful tombola and raffle which pulled in an incredible £750 so thank you to everyone who splashed the cash and helped us reach this very helpful total.
Alongside the player successes and trophies, the club also celebrates the volunteers who help run this ever-expanding operation and each year chooses to award someone who has shown exceptional dedication to the cause, with the Founder’s Trophy. And this year that special someone was Alan Ford for his determination and diligence in keeping us in referees across the board – not an easy job, so a much-deserved win for Alan!
Thanks to Tony Payne and the top brass on the committee for organising a superb evening and thanks to everyone who attended!
Have a great summer and we’ll see you all when we kick-off again next season.
